A Million Shattered Pieces

A million shattered pieces

lie upon

the floor of my life

I stand in wonder

at the immensity of the brokenness

Until

Upon looking further

and with new eyes

at all the pieces

laying at my feet

I discover that

if I simply pick up a few

and move some others around

a lovely pattern emerges

where before

there was only chaos

It’s clear that

there is beauty here.

Beauty that must be

illuminated

and shared

in the million shattered pieces.
