In the spring of 2020 I was at an event called New Media Summit and was one of a few dozen “Icons of Influence” who were selected to hear pitches from potential guests. I had just started my second show (now 5X Award Winning & #1 Internationally Ranked) and had made the decision that my first show (Top 50 ranked and downloading in 97 countries at that time) was going on hiatus.

In the post event meeting there was another Icon who had been hosting a show that wasn’t his and in the meeting was speaking about his desire to have creative control and to be more aligned with his calling to be purposeful and help men.

My 1st show - Men On Purpose Podcast - was the one I had decided to suspend production on - and as this guy was talking the idea popped into my head: “I wonder if he’d be interested in buying my show?”

NO ONE had sold a show before that I was aware of and when he said yes there were 7 reasons that made the show valuable to him and so we struck a deal and now I know not only can you sell a show - you can actually START a show and grow it with that intention - as long as you have these 7 things covered!

After I made the sale - not only did I create a checklist, I also created a whole system to guide the process of negotiating the sale as well as the transfer of the intellectual property assets. This is something I’m uniquely hired to consult on and several of my colleagues from that very event reached out to me to get guidance and subsequently sold their shows too!
